I'm reviewing a pair of son shirts from

Outdoor Research the wayward and the

Astro man so ever since I moved to

Charleston South Carolina a son shirt

has been a staple in my wardrobe I wear

son shirts all the time even in the

winter right now but definitely in the

summer in my opinion a son shirt is

really the best way to not get burnt the

best way to not get burnt is just

physically keeping the Sun off of your

skin sure when you're at the beach

ha vingsuntan lotion on

you you know

 

that's nice because you can have your

shirt off and you're in shorts but but

sometime lotion doesn't allow your skin

to breathe and you get a slimy feeling

and of course every you know hour a

couple hours three hours you have to

reapply so the best way that I've found

is to just cover yourself up with a

really light shirt that has the sun

protection built in so both of the

shirts that I'm reviewing today have the

UPF 50 or 50 Plus which is essentially

like no Sun is gonna get through so you

don't have to wear suntan lotion

underneath the shirt so it allows your

skin to breathe naturally and these

shirts also are gonna dry very quickly

they'll keep you cooler so if I'm

fishing in the summer or I'm out in full

Sun I'll actually wear similar type of

material for pants and I'll wear a Sun

shirt so pretty much no skin is exposed

and I found in my experience that I'm

much cooler in that type of attire

you'll find a lot of like fishing guides

and things like that they'll wear full

they won't have any skin exposed they'll

just have you know totally covered up

with a buff and a hat and Sun shirts

like this so with that being said that

the first stop the first shirt up today

for review is the Outdoor Research

wayward this is actually the wayward 2

which is just an updated version of the

previous wayward this shirt is mostly

polyester with a little bit of spandex

so it does allow

some stretch in the shirt with which I

really like

but the polyester has different type of

feel and the feel on the skin is is is

not supersoft so I don't I don't love

the feel of polyester it has kind of a

rough feel as a slightly abrasive feel

but I think where this shirt shines is

its styling and it's look this shirt

looks really good it has the the

material almost has like kind of a

almost like a paper pattern has is it

kind of looks like paper or like you

know fibers that are cross-hatched or

kind of in a checkerboard pattern if you

look closely so it has a really good

texture and coloring that hopefully it

will pick up on the video but the look

of this shirt the styling the stitching

that goes down the center the way the

pockets are designed it looks really

good

so this is something that yeah you can

wear all day whether you're I mean I

would wear this climbing I would wear

this mountain biking I would wear this

out fishing so you can wear this all day

and then you could go you know to like

the local restaurant and still look

great

this has like I said great styling other

features this as you can see there's two

pockets on either side you know for some

small items just a typical kind of dress
